DALLAS --- On Wednesday morning, the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) released its national rankings for select baseball teams across America and currently has our very own Texas Rockies 12U ball club as the #1 ranked 12U AAA team in the nation.
The Texas Rockies 12U kicked off their fall campaign last weekend in impressive fashion, finishing third out of a strong field of twenty-eight teams competing in the Matt Dozier NIT tournament in Grand Prairie. In the team's first tournament of the fall, the Rockies' concluded the weekend with a 4-1 record and suffered their only loss in a semifinal contest against Texas Crush Baseball, who went on to win the championship title and were soon promoted to the major level the following day. The Rockies' path to the team's third place finish in the tournament did not come easy for the ball club, having to knocked off a North Texas Fury Elite squad twice that ended the 2017 spring season as the 84th ranked major level team in the state of Texas, along with Bartolucci Baseball Club and the Naturals who respectively placed fourth and nine in the twenty-eight team tournament.
The honor of being rated as the top ranked 12U AAA team in the nation by USSSA is a milestone for the Texas Rockies Baseball Organization, marking the highest ranking of any team in the program's history. Congratulations to each member of the Texas Rockies 12U ball club, the parents of these as well as all four members of the coaching staff that has helped them throughout their journey.
