DALLAS --- The Texas Rockies Baseball Organization would like to recognize Ryan Sessions, a member of the TR Baseball 14U major team, for his selection to compete in the 2017 USSSA All-American Select 30 Super NIT in Orlando, Florida over the summer. Sessions was informed of the selection following a standout performance in the USSSA Governor's Games XIX Select 30 Super NIT in Lake Charles, Louisiana while playing for the Texas Rockies 13U (Majors) ball club back on June 2-4, where he caught the eye of an onlooking scout that was in attendance.
Ryan Sessions and his family graciously accepted invitation to play in the event that was held on July 30 - August 5, where he quickly exhibited the reasoning for his selection. In the event, Ryan tossed four scoreless innings on the mound and held his opposition to just one base hit in the tournament. Following the tournament, Ryan was one out of thirty-two players elected to compete in the All-American championship game on the final day of the event.
In his fourth season with the program, Ryan Sessions had another all-around stellar season for the Rockies where finished with the program's eighth highest batting average at .400, while also totaling 7 doubles, 22 RBI, and 24 runs scored in 36 games played. Throughout his four year tenure with the Rockies', Sessions has helped guide his team to 102 wins since 2014 and has undoubtedly become one of the program's elite players. Ryan currently ranks in the top five all-time in twenty-one out of the thirty nine major statistical categories, including becoming the Rockies' record leader in: runs batted in (23), doubles (27), games pitched (80), games started (38), relief appearances (42), innings pitched (161.2), saves, (7), and wins (19).
