LEWISVILLE --- On Thursday evening, TR Baseball 11U saw their season come to an end by falling 8-3 to the Spring Crush in the championship game of the 2017 AAYBA World Series. Although coming one win short of capturing the program's first World Series championship title, the TR Baseball 11U players exited Lake Park with their head held high knowing they left every ounce of effort on the field. In the team's seven games throughout the span of five days, TR Baseball 11U finished the World Series totaling 52 base hits, 58 runs scored, 46 stolen bases, and a collective batting average of .388. Carter Cole led all TR Baseball 11U hitters by going 10-16 with double, triple, nine RBI, five runs scored, two walks, and eight stolen bases. Aaron Reeves was as equally as impressive, finishing the tournament with a 9-17 performance with four doubles, one home run, nine RBI, nine runs scored, two walks, and seven stolen bases. Tyler Sessions also contributed with five hits of his own, while Caden Robert, Luke Jordan, Collin Nicholson, Jace Williams, and Jake Handler compiled four hits each.

The TR Baseball 11U pitching staff was superb throughout the World Series, finishing with a 3.41 ERA received contributions from every player on the roster. Right handed pitchers Aaron Reeves, Caden Robert, and Tyler Sessions headed the strong efforts on the hill. Reeves picked up victories in each of his two starts, logging eight innings of combined work where he allowed no earned runs and two base hits, walked eight and struck out five. Robert and Sessions both appeared in two games each, totaling nine innings on the mound in which they held their opposition to five earned runs on eleven base hits and struck out seven. Other notable performances came from left handers Collin Nicholson and Lennox Byrd, who provided TR Baseball 11U with a lift on the mound in each of their appearances.

Not to be outdone, the TR Baseball 11U defense also was a big reason to the team's success throughout the World Series. Centerfielder Jace Williams, along with middle infielders Luke Jordan and Carter Cole, solidified the middle of the TR Baseball 11U defense and highlighted the team's superb play throughout the team's seven games.

Congratulations to TR Baseball 11U on their second place finish in the 2017 AAYBA World Series!
