Players of the Week: May 11-17

DALLAS - The Texas Rockies Baseball Organization would like to recognize the program's top performers from last week by naming Carter Cole, Will Maya, and Luke Jordan as the Players of the Week for May 11-17.
 
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Carter Cole / 13U
 
Cole attained his first Offensive Player of the Week honor this spring by finishing with a slash line of .500 AVG/.500 OBP/1.000 SLG/1.500 OPS across three games played in last weekend's TSB Mother's Day Classic tournament in Melissa.  The Texas Rockies 13U clean-up batter went 3-for-6 with one home run, two runs scored, and a pair of RBI in six plate appearances on the weekend.  Carter's second long ball of the season not only tied him for the program lead in home runs this year, but also extended his career total to sixteen which is the most by any player to wear a Texas Rockies' uniform.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Will Maya / 13U
 
Maya (0-0, 4.67 ERA/1.00 WHIP) acquired his first Pitcher of the Week award of the season with a strong relief outing on the mound for the Texas Rockies 13U ball club in last weekend's TSB Mother's Day Classic tournament in Melissa.  Totaling three innings of work out of the bullpen, the Rockies' right-hander allowed two earned runs on two base hits, walked one, and concluded the game by throwing 66% strikes.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Jordan / 13U
 
Jordan attained his first Defensive Player of the Week selection by exhibiting stellar glove work and valiant effort throughout each of his three games played in last weekend's TSB Mother's Day Classic tournament in Melissa.  Luke's versatility on the field allowed him to mix in at five different positions throughout the weekend where he tallied six assists and one putout in seven total chances.
