Players of the Week: March 23-29

DALLAS - The Texas Rockies Baseball Organization would like to recognize the program's top performers from last week by naming Ben Woodward, Harry Sochia, and Jack True as the Players of the Week for March 23-29.
 
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ben Woodward / 14U
 
Woodward slashed .556 AVG/.600 OBP/1.333 SLG/1.933 OPS across his five games played over the weekend to earn his first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the spring.  In his ten plate appearances, the right-handed slugger went 5-for-9 with three doubles, two triples, five RBI, three runs scored, one walk, and two stolen bases  Ben's production at the plate fueled the Texas Rockies 14U ball club to a runner-up finish in the MS Fight For A Cure tournament in McGregor, Texas.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Harry Sochia / 13U
 
Sochia (0.00 ERA/1.00 WHIP) acquired his first Pitcher of the Week award of the season with a strong performance out of the bullpen for on Saturday evening.  In his first appearance on the mound this spring, the Rockies' hard throwing right-hander allowed no runs and surrendered just two base hits, walked one, and struck out five to pick up his first win of the season.  Harry's efforts on the mound guided the Texas Rockies 13U to a 3-1 record and a third place finish in the MS Fight For A Cure tournament in McGregor, Texas.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jack True / 14U
 
True attained his first Defensive Player of the Week selection by exhibiting stellar glove work throughout each of his five games played over the weekend.  The Rockies' second baseman was errorless in eight total chances and accumulated three assists, five putouts, and two double plays.  His standout performance on defense led the Texas Rockies 14U to a runner-up finish in the MS Fight For A Cure tournament in McGregor, Texas.
